Northeastern Ma.

Cringle; I lived there till I was in my 30's and never did any calling. I was'nt exposed to it. Even the hunting mag's I would read had nothing about coyote and fox. I use to hunt squirrles, birds, rabbit and deer. You must live on the west side of rt. 3 cause I can't think of a town on the east side that allows discharge of firearms. It's all changed in that area. Way to many people. Back about 5 years ago I was visiting my parants and read a news clip about a woman walking her crying baby in a park when 5 coyotes rushed her. With some help from other people that were walking it, they skaved them off. That was in Waltham, off 128, behind the resevour and the hospital.
Tyngsboro, Townsen, Groton, Pepprel, and Dunstboro still let you hunt don't they?
(sorry for the spelling)
Theres probably a lesson in that news clip I read. That area in Waltham can't be that big. You might do some scouting (If they let you hunt)and find out were they are. That would be 90% of your success. Theres a few guys on here that live in your area. If they spot this thread they can probably help you out.

I've spent some time in that area (Methuen, to be specific) and can't think of all that many places that'd still be open to shooting. Maybe down in North Andover and such, or over closer to the coast, on the other side of Haverhill. But it's been 13 years or more since I've been back there. Even then I didn't have much time to dedicate to hunting. So it may be more of a possibility than I know. I remember some areas around the Andovers or Tewksbury or over near Dracut that looked like possible hunting locales. Same with the smaller towns and villages going from Methuen to Cape Ann like Georgetown and Boxford (I think those were the places). It's funny, when I was younger I never realized coyotes lived outside the western US. I saw plenty of evidence in New England to teach me otherwise. Better be sure to check the town regs wherever you go out there. "Bostonian Disease" was spreading like wildfire back then. I can only imagine the infestation has worsened. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif "Bostonian Disease" Scattergunner, you got it man. WAY to many people. I go down there to visit and can't believe how much it's changed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. The traffic reminds me of an ant farm. Bizzy,Bizzy,Bizzy, Bizzy little cars everywhere. Police line the sides of the road, giving out there radar love. If it was'nt for Billerica rod and gun club, people would have no place to shoot at all.
Tewksbury was my home town. If it was'nt that my mother still lives there I would never set foot in Mass. again.
2 years ago Mass. started charging $100 to renew a CCW. You always had to give a reason for issuing, but now, carrying large summs of money is'nt one of them. If a burgler breaks into your house, you can't protect your property. By law you have to climb out a window or use the back door. If you shoot someone in your house, YOUR in trouble.

Sad to think that a city that was the craddle of American liberty is now synonamos with outrageous taxes, rampent socialism, and destruction of individual rights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif But I love that area still, especially northern New England. You were very wise to move to Deer Isle for several reasons. Talk about a little piece of heaven on earth! There's no place on earth like downeast! Especially the places outside of Mt. Desert Island that most of the tourists never get to see. The west will always be home for me, but I have a fond place in my heart for New England and especially Maine.
