Im new to hunting in Ca, Org from Texas and just tring to get started calling here in Nevada county CA. Anybody have any helpfull tips, hunting locations ect. anything at this point would be extremly greatfull.
 
John T, welcome.
Although I'm a bit farther NE of you I can relate to what you are saying, I am also new to my area and after spending my entire life on the Oregon coast, with almost every waking moment out in the hills exploring, hunting, and just plain having a good time, moving to a new area you know nothing about is tough. All I can suggest is after the snow is gone, get out start exploring, I have been through that country, only from I-80, but it looks like a great place. There are several others that post here from time to time from N. CA. so keep a lookout. Good luck!

Hey guys I can help.Nevada county, man I wish I could live there.Ok get on HWY 80 go to Reno get on 395 North drive up to Doyale Ca its 40 mile's north of Reno (Its in Ca) once there drive up into the Fort Sage Mountian's.Its all high desert.One time i got out of my truck and the Coyote's were holding Chior practice.The dogs are smart use every trick in the book especially scent blocker's full camo Sun to your back.Be super quite. I have been to doyol for work once before, The big problem I am having is that in Texas all the land is privatly owned like 90% in Ca there is alot of goverment or state land to be hunted on, is doyol one of those places?
 
nevada couty is awsum hunting but the best place i found is indian resivour on the 20 30 miles south of williams. this area is a checker board of private land but at the resivour they will give you a map.ceck out the california hog hunter link it will give you a map to the area.id give you the link but it wont drag off the page.it is www.outdoornewsservice.com/california_hog_hunter.html
 
try the reservoir it self use boat to hunt up in the coves? the road up is unpaved also try cache creek blm land it`s on highway 20 8mi`s south of clearlake oaks is the main lot. I know more spots to get in to the area but i would have to show you them.So lets go hunt it there are hogs in area to.I have a small pice of land in the area lets go hunt up there on my place ther are turkeys them yotes killing them.Lets go kill all of the yotes just pm me to set it up all are wecome but one at time . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
