This will make the third boyds stock I've had. I love them. If you shoot prone they are extremely comfortable and take up alot of the kick. If you look on boydsstocks.com they are on sale for 100 instead of 169

Nate, I have almost the same set-up in my closet waiting on me. You are a couple steps ahead of me though.
I just got my McGovern Varmint contour 6.5x55 on Thursday from Savage-barrels.com, she is a beauty!! What barrel mfg did you decide to go with?
Now I'm saving up for the trigger, scope, and tools to do the job myself.I'm also going to bed the thing.I am going to use Moly-Resin in HK Semi-Gloss for all the metal on mine.
I also got the Boyds Varminter stock and it is really nice.
Good to see another Barrel Nutter doing a build, now I can pick your brain as I go along!!

10-4 trashcan. i went with ershaw. ive used 5 barrels from them and theyve all been good shooter. i just did an install on my brotherinlaws 270 for a heavy magnum contour 24" long. im debating on just letting them do the barrel install too since ill have to rent reamers also and they only charge 100 to do it. i got a 24" .875 at muzzle and straight fluting. having them true my reciever and drill/tap for a scope.
i got my trigger for 38 for the bold 2#. i got my scope of ebay in a no reserve bid for 470 shipped so i think i did pretty good. i cannt wait for my stuff to get here. are you using the savage nut on your mauser? im looking for another action to build on and im thinking of going that route also so i can swap barrels faster. good luck with the rifle and have a good time.
