Not impressed with my nite lite

I just bought a nite lite coon hunter's favorite and I have to say it's not nearly as bright as I had hoped for $125 What's everyone else's opinion of these. I got it for coon/fox calling and it's not what I had hoped it would be. Can I get a better bulb?

The krypton bulb is a little brighter. It's not so much what you can see, but it's what reflects back that makes it a good night hunting set-up. Take it out hunting and you'll love it,

I went through the same thing when I got mine.

60X,
I have had them all. Believe me if I would have listened to some of the guys in the first place, I would only have one light. I didn't like the nite lights either and others. I finally just bit the bullet and bought the LightForce. You won't need another light. Just my experience.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I already have a light force and was looking for an in between head lamp. I used the nite lite last night for 2 stands and it went back in the truck. I may just build a head setup for my lightforce. Someone may be getting a nice price on a hardly used nite lite.

I have had nite lites in the past that did not work well... since I sick of stumbling in the dark I purchase the NiteLite Extreme Beltlight Pro in 21 volt. It is expensive but is easily comparable to my Lightforce 140 handheld for output. I have put a halo guard on it and will see how it performs on those days I do not feel like toting around my hand light force.

If you are looking for a head lamp you need either a 21 or 28 volt. The cheaper ones are to be used just to find a coon in a tree at close range. I have a 28V made by K-light ($350). Nite light sells one as well pro hunter.

I can see out to ~ 200 yards with it and it will burn for up to 18-22 hours. I like mine for hunting at the edge of the thickets. I also have a light force but that is used for hunting open areas only.

i use a 21 volt western river blue knight
the headlamp is mounted on my gun with a old bipod setup without the legs.it will show eyes at about 150yrds.but it is hard to see what head the eyes are on at this distance.the hand held light is good out to 250.runs bright always on full blast and it will last 4 hours until it shows signs of dimming

60x, i used to use the nite lites and was told about the bright eyes brand lights.. i have a 21v penetrator and have had no complaints at all.. its been an awesome light and super bright.. burns on the high side for about 2.5 hours and is good out to 200 yards.. in ohio where i hunt that is a long shot and doesnt happen very often at night and for the most part i generally only fox hunt at night anymore unless i happen upon a close coyote somewhere.

the liteforce lights are nice but bulky to carry aroun in my opinion.. i like to keep my hands free and my gun light.. not weighted down with a lite stuck to the top of it..

but try a brighter light for sure.. like they said above dont settle for anything less then a 21 volt.. sunburst makes a really good light as well but its alittle on the big side.. i really like the belt lights though especially for coon hunting/fox hunting..
