NRA Firearms insurance?

I'm considering it due to the low cost for the coverage supplied.

Does anyone else have this insurance? Any experiences with it?

I never bought any extra (should do so) but I once had a claim against the basic coverage included with membership. Wife's Glock was stolen. I found them easy to deal with & they paid the claim promptly.

I would suggest checking with you current insurance..

Call the company you have, not the sales people, the claims people and ask them what your policy Coverage would cover. Give them examples.

Then do the same with the NRA one.. See if it's something you find a value.

I have had insurance in the past that I found out wouldn't cover my guns. (had, not now)

As a vet i have USAA and they just insure the value of everything. I have a dollar value of everything. They don't care what the items are. It's covered.
But, I always test the claims people, since when you need it, they are the ones that you are going to have to deal with.

Just my 2Cents.

Stu, you had better luck than I did. I had a pistol stolen, did all the forms, jumped thru all the hoops.........and never got a DIME for my gun. I bought a gun safe and got extra coverage thru my homeowners. I don't put much faith in the NRA insurance.

Check with your insurance company and see if they have a sporting equipment policy. I have one through State Farm and I just have to give them a description of the equipment and a dollar amount that I want the coverage for and they are covered. Home owners won't cover squat. If I remember right I have $25-30,000 worth of coverage for all my guns, archery equipment, and fishing gear and it cost like $16/ month for the insurance. All I have to do is call them with the description of the gun and what it cost or the rod and reel and what it cost and they will bump me up another $1000 worth of coverage. They are covered for replacement value and if I am on a trip and someone steels my bows or my guns are lost on the airline they will have me a check within 24-48hrs.

I have state farm as well. Basic home owners has small limits on firearms, jewelry & a few other things. I need to get a quote on boosting that, haven't done so yet.

I just added it, it was far less than adding similar van
Lue on the homeowners policy. The State Farm rates above are a good price compared to the quotes I had .

Like all insurance I hope I never have to use it.

I have Eastern Insurance Group for my firearms. Reasonable rates. I have never had to file a claim so can't comment on that. Would like to know if anyone else has ever had to file a claim with them
