After many, very many hours of trying to build the better mouse trap, er...predator decoy, and having given up trying to decide which of my daughters toys to disect, I was at Walgreens drug store and saw a Christmas decoration. It was one of those stupid ones that say "try me!" Just push the button, ya' know. It's this chicken

that for some reason plays Jingle bells when you push the button on the hand. It ALSO jumps up and down and flaps it's wings! It's $15 I'm thinking, Hmmmm, So after X-mas, it's now $5 and I figure what the heck, I dissect it and decide it's perfect! First I skin it the damn things got about a pound of glue holding the fur on, then I remove the button from the hand, splice in 50' of small speaker wire, get some "Faux Fur" and feathers at Walmart, also some "google eyes" I start gluing and pasting fur and feathers and eyeballs till it looks right. It may be too busy, but I figure it's not bad.

Also added a "tail" which covers the wire for about 8". I attach some copper wire to one foot to hang in a low bush while hunting,

reattach the button on end of wire and viola! I'm very happy with it. I did disconnect the speaker, would be cool if I could get the preymaster to play through it! The neatest thijng is that since it hangs by the foot, when it "jumps up & down" the whole branch starts shaking. I hope this is gonna work great.

It looks like it could work. It has all the right things involved with it. I do have a suggestion though. Make shure the glue smell is gone or covered up. A little racoon pee or something should work as a good cover. I would also try to use it on the ground. As a yote gets closer it will be more likely to keep its eyes on the ground and not up where it is more likely to see you or any movement by you.

Either way it should have coyotes runnin' like hell. The only question is which direction they'll be going. I have a feeling it's gonna' work. Keep us posted.
