Ok guys, need more opinions--- TSA approved gun case

Looking for a TSA airline approved double rifle case, prefer cut out foam. The wider the better. I kinda like the boyt H51-H52 seeing as the are wider than most. Need width so I can fit my savage 12 scoped and my AR scoped in the same case.
The cheaper the better as I won't use it much. Looking to spend between 125-175 bucks.
Any ideas? or does anyone have one they'd want to sell?
Need something by Thursday.
Thanks
Adam

I have had good luck with this one:

Trouble is finding one for purchase...

The Boyt you listed looks like it would work fine. Plano and Pelican make good cases also.

TSA approved = Lockable hard sided case

Adam,,I had a heavy duty aluminum case that I picked up at Cabela's on sale for $190 and recently sold it to my step son to secure his from his two little ones...I want to emphasize that it was heavy...but it would hold two rifles, a scoped bolt action and an AR if the AR was separated as to the upper and lower...

If I were to buy another one, especially for airline travel, I would spend a little more and get a Pelican...I've had several out of state competitions where other shooters have lost weapons at various airports with the aluminum cases, but Pelicans seem to have made it through, even though they showed signs of attempts to gain entry ... I realize the TSA locks are not the most substantial, but depending on the inspector you deal with on entry, I have been allowed in the past to use heavier duty locks by asking...That was flying out of the Kansas City airport and the inspector said that as long as it was a better quality lock than just the factory latches, it was acceptable...Not sure all of them would be so understanding..

I have three Pelican Pistol cases and would be hard pressed to go with anything else just due to price...Making cut outs in the solid foam is not that hard of a proposition...Mark your outline just slightly smaller than the rifle and cut it with an electric carving knife..If you have a freezer that will hold the foam, freezing it makes it even easier...

I have been using the Pelican case for 3 yrs
Flying out to WY 2-3 times a year to hunt with
Outwest1 & no issues w/ case. After signing
Orange firearm declaration card at the airline
Check in, I then slap on 2 (key) Masterlocks.

Have not used TSA locks for several yrs.
TSA locks are junk

Actually...
Since he's in Arizona, Amazon has a distributing center in Arizona so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility he could have it next day. If your a Amazon Prime member the shipping up charge or overnight or next day is usually 3.99 ontop of the customary free two day shipping the membership gets you on items sold and handled by Amazon.larger items like a rifle case is 15.99. If you hit the time cut off for next day delivery, you will get it next day.

i have seen the aluminum cases bend and compress in the middle.

i have 2 skb 2 rifle cases. i have traveled numerous times with them and have never had a gun damaged. i can fit 2 rifles easily as well as my hunting knife, caller, remote, binoculars, etc...

if i were buying a new one, i would look at the pelican also.

Strongly suggest you consider models with wheels for a two gun case. Lugging two guns plus baggage is a hassle and the wheels make it much much easier.

To the maximum extent possible, I prefer gun cases that don't look like gun cases. For some reason, to me at least, shiny aluminum cases just scream "LOOK AT ME, I'VE GOT GUNS IN HERE!"

I like boring "nothing to see here" black plastic.

My Pelican 1750 has the wheels and did well on my trip from VA to NM and back. I actually watched a guy give it a toss on the cart from the belly of the plane from about 5' away. Tough as nails and just about your price range. MidwayUSA runs them around $180 on sale once in a while. I used mine to attach my checked bag and carry on to and roll all of it around.

Pelican is the way to go, hands down. They are extremely durable an I doubt there is much that could damage them whereas aluminum can dent and twist. Every airlone I've flown has specified that you are not supposed to use TSA locks, but a lock that TSA cannot open on the gun case itself, and a TSA lock on the bag if you have it inside one.

Academy stocks them.

If you are going to fly on a commercial airline, get a good quality case like a Pelican and leave the plastic cases at home and use them to haul firearms in your own vehicle where you have control over how they are handled.

Plastic cases on an airplane is asking for surprises and trouble to be discovered when you gt to where you are going.

Well fellas, I ordered a Boyt H51 yesterday from Amazon. since they said it will be here tomorrow!
I would have gotten the Pelican 1750 but the Boyt is 3" or so wider.
Thanks for the opinions!

When, I fly and want to use my rifles. I ship UPS to a local gun shop and pick them up. Then, ship it back home the same way. Outside the US I shoot one of the guides rifles. I do not want anything to do with the TSA. My ammo goes the same way. All, I do is make a few phone calls and pay a small fee. My rifles travel safe and sound. My locks don't get cut and I do not have a TSA file on my rifles.
And yes, I only use Pelican cases. Keeping the cardboard box to ship in.

Another vote for pelican! they ave the added benefit of really sealing when shut so you dont have to worry about wour gun getting covered in dust when riding in the back of the pick up or weather while your gun sits on a luggage cart out in the rain at the airport

I run a pelican 1750 here... loaded with an AR, handgun, and ammo. My own padlocks that only I have the key to. Ive flown several times with this setup, in between California and Nebraska, never had a single issue. I would highly recommend a pelican case.
