A lead weight to balance a 20" full bull barrel,
but where I hunt weight is not an issue on the wide open prairie. Wind is the bigger issue and a heavier rifle helps. Checking cows in the truck is where I spot most coyotes.

Sweet I had no idea that the A2's had a space in the stock for stuff like this that is awesome. I am getting a Dtech soon wit hteh A2.

Mine has a pile of ear plugs. The 18" barrel is way too loud for me, so I like to always have ear plugs handy.

Besides the pair of foam plugs, I keep a plastic spoon in there for the beanie weenies in my caller bag in case the spoon there turns up missing, a little plastic tube with a couple of aspirins and benedril tabs for headaches or bug bites, lip balm, extra scope battery, a 2" piece of steel rod for knocking dirt out of the barrel if it gets in there by accident, and a cigarette lighter for a fire, in case I sleep out over night. I been thinking about a teeny weenie led light also, in case I don't want to sleep out overnight. Don't forget the piece of tape on the stock to put on your blister from walking too much or for on the muzzle in case of a snow hunt. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ear plugs would be a real nice thing to throw in there for those times where you take a buddy out and he of course doesn't have any. I was really wanted to get a skeleton though they look really cool. If your son wants to sell it let me know.

His username is hawkeye1 .......he is on a destroyer in the middle east right now and has internet access a lot of the time and can read what goes on here....I am one proud dad and he is on his last couple of months in the Navy and then he comes back to the real world and hunting like we all take for granted .....He is a great son and sailor.....I just wish for everyone that they could have their sons and daughters come home safe and sound....body , mind and soul.....I give thanks to all that have served and are serving and prayers to all that need them now..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif....

For you younger fellows that like different AR stocks and have a shorter reach than the long armed predator masters, put a A-1 stock on. It's an inch shorter and that makes a shooting difference for some. You will need the stock and the "short" upper buttplate screw, and don't use the buffer tube spacer. The real early A-1s with the round sling swivel attachment have no buttstock hole under the buttplate, while the later A-1s with the one piece steel sling attachment, do have the trap hole. Now ya know! The early butt plates are rounded on the edges and make quick mounting just a bit easier. You can round the trapdoor buttplates yourself if you like that style.

For spiderman, the buttstock is held in place by the UPPER buttstock screw ONLY! For newer guns (A-2), that screw is a bit longer that the A-1 screw mentioned above because the A-2 stock is longer and uses the buffertube spacer.

Thanks , Harry.......my memory is weak.....I had the butt stock off when I put the camo on 4 months ago and was writing from memory.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif...........took another look and refreshed it... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif...for now...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif....

I guess I have not seen a GI type cleaning kit, are they really small enough to go inside that little compartment?
