Oklahoma Bound

Well folks........I don't usually post much here on the board, but I do have a few questions that some of you might be able to help me with. I'm in the process of moving to Oklahoma from West Texas. I've lived in West Texas all my life and hunted predators since I was 9yrs. old. I'm sure going to miss calling at night from my chairs....I do day hunt but like every predator hunter from Texas.....love that night hunting. So what are the laws concerning predator hunting in Oklahoma? Are you allowed to hunt at night with a spotlight? Are all predators, Coyotes, bobcat, fox, lion for the taking? Any help would be appreciated. Oh, by the way I'm moving to Ada, Oklahoma.

Thanks

No night hunting allowed (unless you are coon hunting with dogs). Coyotes and beaver have an open season. Bobcat season is only for a few months (Dec-Jan). You can't shoot a mt. lion or bear. I believe you can shoot the gray fox east of i-35 but no reds. But here is the Oklahoma regulations for you check out for yourself. (Oh BTW I use to live by Ada for a few years.)

What in the world are you moving to Ada for? I live here and I've also been to west Texas, think I'd stay in Texas. Just kidding, while it's different it ain't bad.

Yes we can hunt at night here, it's just coyote only and shotgun only with #6 shot or smaller. However it's up to the individual game ranger as to whether or not he allows it. You have to call him in advance and get a 24 hour permit and of course tell him where you'll be at so when he gets a call in the middle of the night he knows who it is.
They also have a hog permit but not sure how it works, while this ain't in the book it's also up to the game ranger.
