Old 30/06 ammo

Went through some old ammo today. SL 52 and TW 54 head stamp on 100 rounds.

FA 29 on 10 rounds.

BN 40 and CN 40 on around forty rounds. This is “ Bay of pigs” ammo. Quite a find but what does a guy do with the other stuff? Don’t really want to run corrosive stuff thru an M1 ?

Well after a little research, the ‘52 and ‘54 should be good to go as far as being corrosive. N bloc clips here we come. !!!

The FA is corrosive. Shot a lot of GI ammo over the years. Different arsenals switched to NC at different times, but we considered anything prior to 52 to be suspicious.

Thanks for the reply. Strange thing is that the FA 29 brass is bright and clean. Just as nice as the LC 65 in the same bag.

A lot of those would probably be considered collectible. I had a bunch of old 3006 ammo I was selling on gunbroker a while back for $1-$1.50 per round depending on rarity. Unless its 70's or newer, I wouldnt shoot it, id sell it.
