Do any of you guys have personal experience with these? I have been coming across a lot of real horrible reviews and was wondering why. Ive had mine now for almost a year with about 1000 rounds through with zero issues. Any others have any experience?

Had 4 different oly rifles. I've like all them. I've got a 16" from Black Friday walmart now that's pretty decent. Functions great but I shoot open sight

We began our patrol rifle program at my agency several years ago. We have seen just about every make of AR rifle come through. Very few have problems, but of the ones that do, the vast majority have been Olympic Arms and DPMS. DPMS has gotten better...Olympic has not. Many of the issues with them are nothing more than piss poor QC, and can be fixed on the spot; Un or poorly staked gas keys, unstaked castle nuts, broken springs, etc...Many times, however, they are just junk out of the box. Broken bolts, broken trigger components, etc.

That being said, for a hunting or hobby gun that seems a couple hundred rounds a year, they are probably just fine.

I started getting into shooting ar's over 20 years ago and at that time Oly didn't have a good rep and I think that has carried over and issues like lilysdad mentioned haven't helped it any. My only experience with them was just with the wssm that Dtech built for me that used oly parts. The first one he sent me had an upper who's picatinny rail was machined wrong and I couldn't get a scope mount riser on it.

I have one that has more than 10,000 rounds through it, mostly my reloads, and never have had one issue to date! I keep it clean, and well oiled which may contribute to the reliability of the equipment.

I had Dtech order me out a Olympic K16 about 6 years ago. It is very accurate and has had no issues after several thousand rounds. A couple years later Dtech also built me a 6x45 upper with a Olympic stainless ultra-match barrel. It also functions perfectly and routinely prints less than moa groups.

A sample of one means little. Olympic did not earn its reputation on accident.

I purchased an UMAR last year and at first didn't like it. However after getting it broke in, I think it is a real quality weapon. It stacks the brass in a nice pile very close to me, and seems very consistent in grouping using cheap ammo. Now if they would change that ugly and needlessly heavy handgaurd to something more practical, I would really be in love. I must have just gotten lucky I guess.
