Olympic Arms Question

I dont know much about the AR but am looking to get one. I found a Olympic Arms K16 AR 15 Carbine and was wondering if they are good guns. The price is right but wanted to know the quality.

Just like most other things, you will hear a wide range of opinions on Olympic Arms quality. I have used their products, along with several other AR manufacturers parts for many years. None of them are free of problems, including Oly. Olympic does make their own barrels, and they seem to do a good job on them. I have sold many of the K-16's and have yet to have any accuracy issues with them. It's a great gun for a great price. I know there are several regulars hear on PM that swear by them, not at them.

I love mine, accurate, dependable, and an all around great purchase. For the price, the K-16 really shines /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif.

Oly acctually makes every thing they put thier name on, even the barrels. Many of the other "Name Brands" are built from mass produced parts from many sub contractors. CMT, LMT, Lone pine ect.the name of whom ever markets that rifle is engraved on the lower. The only thing the "Manufacturer is doing is assembling parts, and like chicken parts is parts.

DTech built my upper with an OA SUM fluted barrel and I'll put it up against my bolt .243 any day. Mike builds a great AR as several on this site and AR15.com will attest. Can't comment on their lowers as mine is a Rock River National Match.

Dtech also built my AR from Oly parts and after 1000 rounds I am still very very happy with the purchase. You will not be disapointed.

Just built a Doublestar lower with a OLY parts kit. Parts fit nicely and trigger pull was 3.5 to 4 lbs with standard trigger. Guess I was lucky with this as it was my first build.
