Either chambering will work fine on deer, the 25WSSM being a little more authoritative.

I got my AR 243WSSM built by Dtech and it's my go-to gun. I chose 6mm because there is a greater variety of bullets for reloading than the 25. I'll skip the 25 for the next one too and am getting a 6.5mm-243WSSM (again bullet choices for reloading).

Nothing wrong with the A-bolt but you are talking apples and oranges, or more correctly bolt action vs semi auto.

I personally wouldn't get a WSM or a WSSM in a bolt gun, there are easier to load alternatives that are as good or better. Where the short and super short mags shine is in the AR 15 and AR 10 platforms, where standard length cartridges (.243, 25-06, 7mag) won't fit in the magazine.
 
I just finished my 243 WSSM Oly upper on Stag Lower. I would suggest you go with the 243 WSSM Loaded COL fits the mags with no problem some of the 25WSSM's need the bullets set back a bit to fit right. Don't know nothing about the Brownings but have heard they are a good rifle.
 
I just bought the Browning A-Bolt Varmint stalker in 243 wssm. It is by far the nicest gun I own. I just got the scope on it tonight. I will load for it tomarrow and have a report by Sunday noon on the board. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
I just bought a Oly K8 upper in .243 WSSM for a real deal. I was going to have Dtech build one for me, but found one unfired that I just couldn't pass up. I haven't picked it up yet, but have already talked to Mike about sending it up for a little tune-up when I get it. I hope that I have good things to report in the very near future. I hope to have it in my paws by end of next week, just have to get time off to drive up a few hours north and pick it up where a friend found it for me. He has the local gun shop holding it for me to come complete the purchase. I can't wait!!!
 
I really like my Oly Arms 243wssm, It's a good shooter and functions perfectly. I have no personal experience with the bolt guns in the wssm calibers so I can't help there.

I do agree with nmleon about the bolt gun vs semi auto wssm calibers. The bolt gun in a 243Win or 25-06 will be a better option. The AR15 platform will not allow the longer cases, so that is where the wssm calibers shine. You have to step up to the AR10 platform to get the 243Win case to fit and those tend to get a bit heavy.
 
I was really impressed with my WSSM today! I shot 11 shots inside a 1 1/2" circle at 100 yards. That was just my initial light load with 38 grs of Varget and a 80 gr PSP. With some tweeking and wrenching it should be a great performer.
