After going through several,,,, I think I know where Jeff Foxworthy got his start.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif...Jerry Clower was a real original.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
The first time I heard Jerry Clower, it was 1974 and I was on a hunting trip with some down time and a battery operated radio. As I scrolled through the channels I heard this southern voice talkin' 'bout Uncle Versy and the Ledbetter family.
I laughed till I cried and my ribs hurt. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Back in the early 70's (when I was just a youngun'), every Sunday morning we'd here him on a Southern Gospel radio show called "Country Crossroads".
It aired between 5-7am on KFDI 1070AM, Wichita, Ks.
