Indiana really needs to let us start hunting these dang bobcats.. this one came to mfk flycatcher the first min of the stand, got pretty close to us but finally heard one of us move a little and stopped and starred right at us before finally taking off... thinking in my head that's probably gonna be 15 or so less turkeys I will see this year, along with who knows how many fawns, and other small game

I bowhunted across the Wabash in Illinois for 25yrs starting at around Mt Carmel, moving N, W, and back east settling in Clark Co for 18yrs. Started occasionally seeing bobs the last 10 or so years, becoming a yearly event the last few I hunted there and my buds still see 'em every year.

Haha, got a spot I’m trapping for sorta fun and curiosity and have taken 8 cats on 2 sets along a 50yd stretch next to a field. What’s crazy is 2 major paved roads run South and West of this field. This is the only spot of the field that can’t be seen from either road. Just a low spot on the West side of a creek that borders the field and they feel safe using it. A buddy hunts it and killed a 180” buck there a couple of years ago and had made mention of all the different cats he gets on camera. It’s only 10min from my house so we’re seeing just how many I can catch, lol. I’m watching it with a camera plus his camera, so I only go when I have a catch. I can make a catch and within a day or two another cat shows up.
If y’all got that many already, by the time they open a season y’all ain’t gonna be able to get rid of them.

Cool! We don't have cats in our local....drive another 4 hours north and we do but they can only be taken by trapping.
Indiana is trapping only, but last year was the 1st year they even allowed trapping.. quota was set for 1 per person and total of 250 bobcats over the southern half of Indiana only,, quota was filled in a month and season closed early

I was checking in a river otter last week and talked to the manager at the Spring Mill office. He said they had a meeting and a hunting season was talked about. Fingers crossed they'll open one. The quota needs to be raised from 250 to at least 500. It'll fill quickly as the southern half of Indiana is full of Roberto Gato.

Hopefully when they decide to open up a season for you in IN they also allow you to hunt them at night. We have seasons in MI, but no night hunting allowed for bobcat.
