Opinions about Springfield XD 40?????

I have an XD 40 Tactical 5" barrel. The only thing I don't like about it is the short magazine. The rounds that fit my STI comp gun won't fit in the XD mag. Other than that its a very nice pistol.
 
They are a good gun, realitively accurate and just as realiable as most if not any production pistols. Many like them. My advise is to try before you buy. I thought they felt great until I shot one, couldn't hit crap with it. I shoot 1911s, HKs, Sigs, even Glocks (and you don't know how much I hate saying that) much better. Others say they shoot them better than anything else. Try many, buy one....then buy more of course.

I have an XD45 4" service model. Very good shooter, based on the Glock with a few Springfield additions. I really like mine, and the 13+1 mag is really nice. You won't be dissapointed with an XD.
 
I have a XD 9mm and it shoot fairly well. It has a 15rd mag. It comes with two mags...has a 4 inch barrel....stump

Not quite true. The gun is manufactured in Croatia and was in use long before Springfield struck a deal to import them under the Springfield name into the U.S. Springfield didn't design the firearm, they don't make the firearm, they just ship them to the U.S. with their name stamped on the gun.
 
I have shot 2 of them. The one shoots pretty good and the other one didn't shoot bad but it did jam a quite abit. My cousin took it to Camp Perry during the National Match shoots and the guys at Springfield took it for 2 weeks and said it was fixed. He brought it home and after about 50 rds. it started doing the same thing again. He took it back the following year and they had it about a week this time. It will jam sometimes, maybe once or twice every 200-300 rds, but it does shoot ALOT better now.
 
Springfield XD 40 V-10 model. Blows Glock out of the water by far! Better feel, better handling, more durable. You wont be dissapointed, cant say the same about Glock, I was dissapointed with mine.
 
I have both the Springfield XD and three Glocks. My Springfield Sub-Compact 9mm is a great weapon and a much better buy than the Glock price wise. I have the night sights on my XD and it is one of my carry guns. The XD is one of the best buys in a Self Defense weapon and the XD is Totally reliable.
