Opinions on Tikka rifles.......

Hey guys, was just wondering if any of you all have any experiance with Tikkas and what your thoughts are on them. I was wanting a long range rifle and was comparing a Tikka varmit with a Remington VSSF II both in 22-250 but ended up getting the Remington since I know NOTHING on the Tikka. I however am STRONGLY considering one in the "Lite" model in 308 for deer hunting. I love the detachable box magazine on all their rifles and wish Remington would do the same... Thanks for all the input!

Good shooting!

I just bought a T3 stainless lite in 243. It will be my deer and coyote rifle along with my 222. I have not shot it much yet. Sighting in I shot groups under an inch. I was torn between this the T3 lite and the Browning A bolt lite. Both have nice adjustable triggers, light weight, stainless, smooth action, accurate. The Tikka is less expensive and has a plastic 3 shot mag. and plastic trigger guard. The Browning has a 4 shot mag. but you have to drop the floor plate to remove it. The Brownings trigger guard is metal.
They are both nice rifles. I picked the Tikka because of the mag. style and reputation for accuracy and I didn't want to copy my buddy. The Browning bolt is polished while the rest of the rifle in mat finish. Make for a nasty refection. I like the stock on the Browning over the Tikka. The Brownings stock seems to feel better.

Overall, I am very happy

IMHO, they are the best value today in a factory rifle. Nothng but a trimmed down, no frills SAKO. Same barrel.

I have several and they all shoot great with no problems, have good triggers, and the action is super smooth.

You can't go worng. And I have all the normal American makes, CZ, etc., to compare with.

My buddy has two of them and he is happy with everything about them except he bought the wood stock models and his .223 is getting dinged up very quicky compared to his old BDL. The wood is softer than most rifles that I have had, but other than that they are accurate, they have a good triggers and barrels and most of all they are priced right. Overall they are great guns.

I have the Tikka T3 All Weather Whitetail Hunter in the 25-06 and love it. It was easy to adjust the trigger. The claims on them being some of the best shooters out of the box for the money is true to some point. My didn't like any factory loads, but once I loaded up a couple different rounds for it and found the one it liked the best, it is a tack driver for a light barreled gun.

I have a varmint stainless 223 and my boy has a light 223 both shoot really well I am veary happy with both , varmint will put 5 BH 55 gr SP in a penny.

Tikka, one of my favorites, quality features at a good price. Smoooth bolt, nice adjustable trigger, convenient quiet safety, removable clip that is quiet and tough, skips rounds into the chamber so smooth you might need to check if it's loaded, accurate Sako barrel, comes with rings & swivels, written accuracy guarantee, handle & pack very well, you'll be hard pressed to find bad words about them.

The barrel on the Sako 75 and the Tikka is the same barrel. The make them in the same factory and each gun gets them. I think that they are the most accurate barrels made out of the box.

I have a LH Tikka Whitetail hunter in 7mm-08 and it is one of the most accurate rifle out of the box you can purchase. I just wish mine was SS and Syn stock, but they didn't make the Left Hand with those options. Tikka is the best you can buy without having to Mortgage your home. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a tikka 595 in 223. I made it my newest truck gun, if that says anything, and I wish I had bought a few more in other calibers while they were making that series. Don't really know about the newer onew, but the ones like mine are great rifles. Only complaint I ever had is the high cost of the spare magazines.

I have the T3 in 22-250 and it's starting to shoot great. I say "starting" because it took me awhile to figure out the specific bullet/powder combination it likes. Actually powder was the main problem but since I swithced to IMR 4064,groups are well under an inch with several bullets. So yes, I like mine.

I have a M695 SS/Laminate, in .25-06 Rem, and a T-3
Blued/Synthetic, in .223 Rem. I have a bunch of the rifles,
and by a good margin, the Tikka M695 in my favorite rifle.
Both are sub MOA accurate, and not to picky about what they
shoot into sub MOA groups. I love the triggers, and
the smooth cycling. If I didn't have the M695, the T-3
would be my favorite. I have recommended this rifle to a
number of friends, and have had several come back, and
thank me for that recommendation. Some folks get
hung up on the plastic mag(T-3), and bolt shroud, but
I have never had a problem with any part of my Tikkas.
I would say handle them, along with other prospective
brands, and it the TIkka feels like a fit get it. I have never
met a Tikka that didn't shoot accurately, so odds are that
if you like the way it feels, you will also like the way it
shoots.

This is my first post as a member. Hope I do things right. Anyhow, about the Tikkas, I have bought 2 in the past 6 months. First one was a 595 sporter in .223 with plans to make it into a .20 Practical, but it shot so nice I don't want to change it. Second purchase was a 595 Varminter in .223. I have only shot it a few times, but so far it clearly out shoots my Rem.700 VLS. Both rifles shoot extremely well, probably better than I am capable of shooting. In my opinion, they are great shooting rifles and the only brand I would consider if purchasing another rifle. I also will add that the ammo I am shooting was worked up for my Rem.700VLS and both rifles shoot it great. Not seeing any need to change the load at this point.
