Ops Core Skull Mount ?

I'm looking for a more comfortable/adjustable/better fitting option than the PT Bravo helmet that I am using. The Bravo got me started for sure, and was worth what it cost, but now that I know what is important to me I want to upgrade.
I considered the Crye Precision Nightcap but I need to mount an IR on one side and a work light on the other and almost everyone that I have talked to has said that will probably not work very well.
So, I am now looking at the Ops Core Skull Mount.
Anyone here have any real experience with this?
It looks promising, I know that it is only $20.00 less than the full FAST helmet but I am hoping to get away from a helmet if possible.

1trkyhntr, what was the issue with the Bravo PT? I'm interested in your assessment of the Bravo and looking forward to hear about the Ops Core Skull Mount.

I ran a Lancer Paintball sized XL and it bothered my forehead once in a while, even with a counterweight. I blame it on my fat head and lack of space to add some extra padding which was provided but would have never worked for me. My son had no issues and could easily tighten it down to fit his head.

I've looked at the Crye and I'm leaning that way, mounting a light isn't that important to me and if needed I'd probably modify a headlamp instead or running a hand held light to save on weight.

The Bravo is not really bad, it is a little hard to adjust to get it just right. I just can't seem to find the sweet spot.
And when it is too warm to wear a beanie it does not fit my head quite snug enough.
I can't really put my finger on one particular issue with the Bravo, it just feels "clunky" if that makes any sense.
For what it is and what it cost it does get the job done though. I don't really regret starting out with the Bravo, I am just looking to upgrade to a better system.

Was it the adjustment of the helmet to your head or getting the thermal unit centered on your eye?

How was the padding in the helmet? I couldn't use any of the extra padding supplied with my helmet.

I'm using it with a PVS14, not thermal. Centering the PVS is not a problem.
The padding is just ok. There is no adjustment to that part and no additional padding was supplied.
The only adjustment is in the chin strap.
The Ops Core Skull advertises multiple adjustment points which should be a big improvement over the Bravo helmet. I just don't want to pull the trigger yet until I can find some user reviews.

I remembered your FLIR hanging around your neck after I typed and thought you might have been scanning with NV.

My helmet had 1 adjustment similar to the Ops Core Skull on the back but no room for padding. I never used the chin strap. My son and I swapped scanning every other stand or so, adjusting the chinstrap would have been a pain. I wore a thin a beanie as I could find and he used several different beanies depending on the temp and tightened it down. For a $70 helmet it worked great for him just too small for me.

Well after talking with 3 different guys at TNVC I ordered the Ops Core Skull Mount today.
I have high hopes that it will be what I want it to be.
