We have a two-week rifle season for deer.  Our deer situation is not good, in my opinion.  Many hunters are forced to hunt on land with few deer when there are acres upon acres of private land that are overpopulated with deer.  That's why we have such a high rate of vehicle accidents involving deer.  The highest in the country, I believe.  The population is there, but it's unaccessible.  People just don't want hunters on their land.
