Today's temp was forecast for the low 50's so we went out early today to do some calling. My old coyote hunting buddy JP7mag is 77 years old and I am 73 so we are slowing down and making more mistakes than we did 15 years ago.
On the first stand we had a big male coyote stop at about 200 yards and JP7mag dropped it with his 243 Win shooting a Lead Free Hammer 70 gr bullet. That bullet sounded really good when it hit the coyote.

Later in the morning I dropped a coyote with my shotgun with a 3" 1-1/2 oz load of TSS #2 shot. It was about 30 yards from me. I couldn't see the bead on my shotgun barrel very good and it took me two shots to put it down.

Later in the day we both missed a coyote in some deep grass. I had trouble seeing my bead on my shotgun barrel again. I also missed a few coyotes last year on standing coyotes with my shotgun.
So when I got home I found a bright green Hi-Viz sight in my Sporting Clays bag and put it on my shotgun barrel. Hopefully I will be able to see my shotgun barrel better with the bright green sight. If I miss anymore standing coyotes with my shotgun I will have to come up with another excuse or just not tell anybody about it.
