PA coyotes - can I hunt them Sundays during archery?

OK, I'm going to MdKean County, PA next week for about a week of archery hunting for deer. I have a non-resident hunting and archery license. I do not have a non-resident furbearer.

Can I legally hunt for coyotes on Sunday during the archery deer season?, and, if so,

Can I use a centerfire rifle to do so?

I'll probably call the Game Commission tomorrow, but maybe someone here knows. (I couldn't find the info on their website).

I want to say yes, but you better check to be sure.
I used to be up on that stuff, but thw laws have been changing the last couple years. I always buy a furbearers license, so I really don't worry about it.

It should be 24/7. The only restrictions I am aware of is when you need some orange, and certain hours during turkey season.

It should also be on the game commission site.

Karl.

There are other restrictions as well during deer and turkey seasons, unless you have a furtakers license. If you DO NOT have a furtakers and you filled your deer or turkey tag you can not hunt coyotes during deer or turkey season during legal deer/turkey hunting hours, or something like that.

Go to www.huntingpa.com they have a "Game Laws" forum and a bunch of WCO's read and answer questions there.

Yes. Archery is closed on Sunday so you can be in the woods with a firearm hunting yotes.

yotes are covered under a general license, and you may take them anytime, unless during firearms deer season and you have filled your tag. but since its bow season, and you cant shoot deer on sunday, get out there and whack em. best of luck, Justin

yep thiers a whole page in the digest on coyotes and somewhere on thier thiers a chart for all legal game coyotes 365 days a year 24/7 no orange after legal shooting hours.

Thanks for the replies.

I went to HuntingPA.com and posted my question - the PA Game digest isnt' always an easy place to figure things out.

Once again, WITHOUT a furtaker's license, I can hunt coyotes during the archery-deer Mon-Sat. only while lawfully hunting deer (so that would be archery equipment, legal hours only). On Sunday, the season is "closed", or, rather, you can only hunt coyotes, fox and crows.

So.... I can hunt coyotes from Sat. at sunset to Monday at sunrise (when the archery season is "closed") using a centerfire rifle. No blaze orange required.

Bottom line is that I can add to the list of options for Sunday (sure beats cleaning the camp outhouse!).

you should buy a furtakers license in case a fox comes in. Make sure you don't call in and kill a bobcat by mistake. many bobcats in that area. i have called in some in that area. nice to watch but not legal in pa unless you have a tag. i do most of my cat hunting in texas. my last count in texas was 25 plus bobcats in 5 trips. awesome night hunting. going back this fall.

I'd like to support you on that, but I can't justify spending the $81 for a non-resident furtaker. I'm staying 8 days in McKean County and focused on archery-deer. The only day away from that will be Sunday.
