I've seen pics of several ARs that had something that looked like double-sided tape or possibly foam tape on the case deflector. I don't get any brass damage from this area, so the only thing I can see that it is doing is protecting the finish on the upper from the brass deflecting off it.Anybody done this....or know the actual reasoning behind it?
