My deflector was denting the cases so I put a piece of stick on plastic velcro on it and solved the problem.  I eventually cut the ejector spring off a couple turns which took care of the denting problem.   After adding a scope using rings instead of a one piece mount I was able to add a case deflector and now it drops the cases in front of me at my feet.
