Paint the Tikka or leave it??

I've got a Tikka T3 lite in .22-.250 Remington, and I've been tossing around the idea of painting it for a while now, just not sure if I'm into it or not, I'm not going to paint the scope and barrel as I've done in the past, just the stock on this one... Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

What it looks like now:

I'm sure you get the idea, it would look something like that, I'm just really reluctant to paint the metal parts of this one.... Any input would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

some things you only do if your really committed... kinda like getting a tatoo on your forehead...

the camo rifle looks pretty good... but on a tikka... Hmmmm.... only if your really going to keep it..since it's value will go down... but that's just my opinion... other will vary I'm sure...

I painted my Tikka and the paint stuck to the metal better than it stuck to the stock.

Some people will pay just as much if not more for a camo rifle or shotgun.

I been thinking about the same thing. Can't bring myself to take the tikka out of the stock or remove the leupold as its sighted in perfect and shooting great. I don't want to paint the scope.

? For you though. What is the purpose in buying a 6# t3 LITE. Then cluttering it up with a huge scope? Kinda defeats the purpose of
Light IMHO

$, quality scope, deal I couldn't pass up, I never really thought about it to be honest, the scope isn't really that heavy the gun is a shooter, that's all I really care about I guess. Good question though.

Paint the crap out of it. It'll make it more accurate

. It's not rare, in my opinion it's not especially pretty, and it's not expensive. If it were a wood stocked Kimber or Cooper or a limited run Winchester, Sako, or Remington then I would hesitate. I have to agree with Gary though on the scope. Ditch the Hubbel telescope if it is a calling gun before you paint everything. If it is a varmint rifle, have at it as is or leave it, really doesn't matter. Most varmints could care less unless it looks like a mirror.

A lot of members like to paint and the rifles look great.

Now, here is the "BUT".

Camo tape and some brown rags works well. First aid tape and white rags do a good job for snow.

This is what I do because I can change the looks of my rifle in the field, without waiting for the paint to dry.

I have been on hunting trips that we may have an overnight snow then by noon it is going. In about 30 minutes my camo is changed for myself and my rifle.

I have to say some of these rifle sure are nice. You guys do a nice job.

PAINT IT!! If its close enough to see the paint, its close enough to shoot!! Also. if it shoots good now, it will shoot good after you paint it, maybe better!!

you have done nice work on previous paint jobs so i say paint it. it is a tika after all, not a vintage sako!! not saying its not a good quality rifle, i just think if you want it camo then do it
