Could you guys please help out a wannabe AR addict?

Could someone post a list of the parts that I would need to get together to build my first AR? Please make it complete, I want to start getting all the parts figured out and start to order them as I find what I want.

Thanks for your help,

kevlars

Also, post some of the best and most economical places to look for parts. I want to do this first one on the cheap side, then I will go full boat later, when I figure out what I REALLY "need".

First of all if your wanting to build one from bare parts, you're gonna need about $100 worth of tools (armorer's wrench, handguard tool, headspace guages, vice blocks)and your gonna need to be familiar with checking for proper headspace. The $$ you'll save on building this way will probably NOT offset the $$ you'll spend on tools.

I'd start w/ a stripped lower (cheapest I've found lately are Superior Arms from kisermunitions.com $85). Then go to model1sales.com or J&Tdistributing.com and pick out a "rifle kit" that suits your fancy. The kit will include the lower parts kit you'll need to complete your stripped lower, a stock and an assembled upper receiver (headspaced and ready to rock) w/ bolt carrier assembly. Your kit will run you around $415-525 depending upon what bells and whistles you want. Or check out the bargain bin @ cmmginc.com. They have bulk flattop AR15's fully assembled for $570.

Good luck.
