Pelican Gun Cases

Worth every penny. Your firearms aren't going anywhere once you get them cut in. Kinda limits swapping stuff around though, but you can get top foam replacements and have different cutouts for different uses.

I use one and have carried guns many times in the States, and to Canada and Africa in it.

Have never had any damage to my guns and other than cosmetic scratches etc. my case is as good as new.

Worth every penny in my opinion...buy once cry once...

I have a few Star lights and they're okay. Pelican makes a much nicer case, esp the latches.

For just going to the range and back, I think they're a little over kill. Flying to a hunting trip, I think they're great for that.

Well I guess the only downfall would be they are kinda custom to what rifle you cut it for. Where can you get new top foam from? Direct from pelican I am guessing? Also who has the best deals on them?

Thanks for the replies guys.

You could order foam direct from Pelican, but not sure what the price is. I had to buy replacement foam for my Star lights a few weeks back when I was going out to Oregon to shoot sage rats and rock chucks. I did a google search for replacement foam for the case and several websites popped up.

It was expensive! Two pieces of foam with shipping ran me $90.

I used one for my trip to hunt in NM with Tony Tebbe. I have the Pelican 1750. You can catch them on sale sometimes for around $180. On my flight back, I watched a guy chuck my case onto the baggage cart then found where someone tried to pry it open and get to my goods. They were unsuccessful. Those cases are worth every penny, especially when you have $3000-$5000 worth of stuff in them. Mine looks like it fell off a truck after those 4 flights, but all my gear was pristine. I'll probably end up getting another foam insert for mine to fit other rifles in it.

.

You can always put your gun in a soft case, and then put the soft case in the Pelican.
When you get where you're going you have your soft case to haul your gun around in.
Mine fits tight with one piece of the foam removed.

Or even put your drag bag in the hard Pelican shell.

Love the Pelican case, its pure quality. I purchsed the replacement foam direct from Pelican. The shipping was about $25. I felt it was a deal cause its a 3 piece set. now I have interchangable foam centers.

I have 3 Pelican cases, a big 1750 with wheels, a medium size (approx 18"x15"x5"), and a small (fits Glock 30 perfectly). The quality is good, but I just don't use them much.
When looking for new foam, check here Foam Factory, much more reasonable prices than anywhere else.
