I'm going to be brutally honest here. I have no "data" or "stats" to back up my opinion. Just observations.
First, I see a high percentage of Phantom owners complain of very low success with this caller. Any caller will call coyotes at times. Heck, when they are coming hot, a squeaky door hinge will call them in. Other than a couple pup pics from some of the easy call states, I have not seen any real proof this call is doing well in the field.
I see a high percentage of Phantom owners reporting break downs. Usually wire or keypad related. However Extreme Dimension has been excellent with service I am told.
I see a high percentage of Phantom owners re-selling their units within the first year or two.
I've spoke to at least two different sporting goods store owners that have had several customers attempt to return them for refunds, complaining of lack of success. This was in areas that has fairly easy calling all around.
Not trying to dis anyone's caller but frankly the sounds suck and a guy is stuck with them forever.
Many people hate dealing with wire, myself included. Especially in the colder climates.
I'm just forming my opinion from observations. If all the successful Phantom users would post some positive stories and pics, I'm certainly open to having my mind changed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Again, this is just my opinion. Not trying to piss anybody off. You fellas filling yer pickups with Phantom called coyotes, more power to you and I wish you continued and increasing success. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Let's face it though, a bitch list can be made about any product...especially e-callers. There are people that don't care care for the Foxpro, WT, or JS-512, either.
If it's working, hang on to it and keep up the good work.
In it's defense, it's cheap, light, and has a good service reputation.
Take care, Curt
