Piebald G'hog?

Got this the other day. He was out there around 200yds & I thought he was mangy, either that or his momma fooled around w/ a 'possum. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Not mangy at all in fact it's well furred. Yeap, I'm having this'n mounted. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I was sooo hoping no one was going to ask that question. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
The scope got knock out & when I resighted it at 50yds it looked good. Well, it's off a little to the right & I caught him back of the ribs. Must of been a God thing because it didn't harm it for a mount. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Unusual groundhog and definitely worth having mounted. I've hunted them for most of my life and have never seen one like that. Will make a fine conversation piece.

Nice going. What gun did you shoot him with, caliber I mean? Just curious.

6mm06: Shot him w/ my ol' reliable 222Rem loaded w/ a 40gr V-Max, a dose of 10X & a 6 1/2 Rem primer. It tickles the c'graph right up to 3500fps. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have seen white spots on g'hogs before, but this is a first w/ so much white. I shot a black one 2yrs ago that hasn't got mounted yet (long story) & the one taxidermist I talked to said something about putting both on the same mount ... hmmmmmm. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I thought about putting a motion detector on the mount & when someone goes past, it growls at 'em. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Great idea! I scrounged a motion detector from a ceramic dog. When you walk by it barks. Maybe I should mount it in a coyotes head or better yet a bobcat? I like the way you think. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Weasel: You wouldn't have to put it in the head, unless it's a head mount /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif, just somewhere close. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Ya might what to consider having a couple extra robes around for folks to wear while their clothes dry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
