We were given a DVD series called Planet Earth. We have started watching and it is a very well done set about natural marvels from around the world. My wife will watch it more than once.

If this is what I'm thinking it is, it was on the discovery channel a little while back like every sunday night.

Very, very cool. Some unreal video and scenes.

I also saw a "how they made it" episode and it was rediculous the amount of time, money, and comittment that it really took to produce the entire series.

I would for sure recommend it and it is not some totally left wing tree hugger video either.

It is some really top notch discovery channel stuff.

Videography is unreal. As with most, I get annoyed at the old earth darwinism that's so haphazardly thrown in so dogmatically - - as if they were standing around watching it happen - - but the footage is absolutely amazing! Makes that 50 inch HD TV worth every penny!

was that the one with the snow leopard?

i think i read somewhere that it took 5-6 months to film just 5 minutes of footage because the animal is SO rare

The BBC released version is much better than the USA version shown on the discovery channel. It is narrated by David Attenborough who does a much better job than the chick on our version, but has the exact same images. You can get it for 50 something dollars at Costco. I love it!
