Please!! Help For Washington State Hunting

Al Washington

New member
This is hoping anyone can help with some advice. I was invited to a hunt on the 22nd of Dec. around Goldendale. Due to work I couldn't get the time off. About 3 days ago I was in eastern Washington, Just about the middle of the state. All of the land I saw had fences around it. I'm sure this must sound like a stupid newbie question,But can/would anybody be willing to let me know of an area that may be worth trying. I live in the Tacoma area. I really like the area east of the Cascades. I don't mind the drive, and I would prefer to hunt over there. Any advice or help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Al, you might wanna do a search for the Infamous "Curt", he's from Goldendale and is a supreme wacker of coyotes in those parts.

Good Luck
Bob

LOL ! "supreme whacker of coyotes". Thems' big shoes to fill. Don't know if I deserve that title but thanks much Bob.

Yer a Gentleman and Scholar for implying I do! LOL. Anywho, where to hunt....hmmm, to tell the truth Al, I am not very worldly. I hunt the same wore out areas quite a bit. Recently gained permission for some fresh areas. If yesterday was an indication of how the calling is going to be than it's going to be a fuuun winter! Good to find some normal coyotes again. (read: dumb). I will say this about finding places to hunt. If an area looks like it holds coyotes, it is almost certain it does. Find any rural area and stop in to a prospective farm and inquire as to whether they have some excess coyotes they would like removed. I would venture to say 95%, maybe more, will invite you to call and tell you where to start. May tell you 4 or 5 other guys to call. Don't waste your time with small land holdings. Find good size farms. The Private property can be real good calling. The more remote the better. I will pick a day and do some drive around scouting. Try not to stop into peoples places dressed to hunt. Although if I see a farmer while out hunting I may stop to BS and ask him if he would like some coyotes removed. If they say no say "I understand completely", and thank them anyway. Many times I have had people change there mind because of being so polite. (I know that is hard to believe! Don't spill yer coffee guys! LOL) If you want to take it one step further, you can get some business cards made up too. Whirlwind, who won the G-Dale event, had some nice looking cards. I went down to the local paper and ordered 500 or so for $29. You can get them cheaper on the internet though. Sorry I couldn't help you more. Pretty lame , huh. I hear Walla Walla and Moses Lake areas are reeeal good hunting though!

Bahhhh! Curt's being much too modest....When he and Jerry come to town, the dogs ring the steeple bell.

Hollywood is gearing up to make a film of their exploits..."For a Few Bullets More"

Curt Please send me one of your cards, I would like to add it to my file. Have you had a chance to develop the pictures yet? I would like to pay for developing them if you have not. My pictures turned out poorly.
Hows the hunting been? We need to plan another hunt, may-be in the spring. E-Mail me
twixon@kalama.com Take care, David

Howdy, you are alittle far from me but your more than welcome to come over to the eastside and hunt. We have a TON of BLM land. You practically have it all to your self. I also have some very good private property to hunt.

HI Curt, wish I would have seen this site before the hunt in Goldendale. Please let me know if and when you folks are going to have another one. Fred

Hi David! I will send you a card if you promise not to bust me for copyright infringement. They will look similar to your probably. LOL I have about 6-7 more pics to go to finish that roll of film. I will find something to burn them up on. I will get some extra copies for you.

What you mean Jerry? You don't want that whole desert to yourself do ya? Heh Heh

Take care, Curt

Hi Jerry, not to worry, I never even come close to your area. Seems like a million miles between you and me. But I'd be more than happy to help you out in any of those areas if you ever want some company...
