Plum crazy trigger.

Wanting to improve my light weight ARs trigger. Can I put any AR trigger and hammer in it? Also, will I have trouble with my pins being loose if I take them out to switch them?

You shouldn't have any trouble swapping out the trigger. They should accept any mil-spec trigger. I was going to try the yellow JP springs in mine to see if I can lighten it up a bit. The last time I checked everywhere was out of them though. Surprise, Surprise!!! I will have to double check now though. Good luck!

Have you heard of anyone trying jp springs with the polymer trigger group? My question is, does the hammer have enough mass to work with the light springs?

I have heard varying results both ways. For those that it don't work in, some guys end up using the original hammer spring, but the JP yellow trigger spring.

I think i saw brownells had the yellow spring kit in stock. I have one in my oly with a set screw... turned 8 lb trigger into 4-4.5lbs. Cant beat that for $10

I've got a set of yellow springs laying here. I'll give them a try if you guys think they will work. I was a little concerned about the hammer hitting hard enough.

I have a plum crazy lower I bought new. I put a Rock River national match trigger ($85 @ Joe Bob's) with steel pins and have no problems.
If you shoot soft primers (aka 223rem) those light hammer springs should work. If you shoot Lake city 855 or 109's you need at least a 4.5# hammer fall. They have hard primers, #41.

Yup. The yellow springs will work with hard primers sometimes, but not reliably. If you add a JP speed hammer with the springs it'll help. Mine will shoot maybe 90 out of 100 surplus ball ammo. You might try the JP adjustable competition trigger. They were about $120 a couple years ago. Once you get em set right (I'll admit it's kind of a PIA) they'll work great on the harder primers. I've got mine tuned to 3.5lbs, it breaks likes glass and has just the tiniest bit of creep (can't even tell unless I'm on the bench in prefect conditions) and I haven't had a FTF since I put it in.

My PC lower has a RRA national match trigger in it. Relatively easy to install, as long as you make sure you get the spring legs in the right place (please don't ask me how I know that, okay?

Not enough mass left in the poly triggers if you put the JP reduced power kit in. I put a standard AR trigger group in with the JP kit on a Plum Crazy for a buddy of mine, it works fine. No FTGB (fail to go bang) so far.
