PMC Bronze ammo, how good??

Guys has anybody shot this stuff. Gander is having a great deal on it but I wonder how good it is. If it is dirty and trouble like the wolf stuff I want no part of it. It is the black and gold box. Thanks Kirby

fine plinking ammo and the cases are reloadable, but Gander and great deal don't typically go together. I can usually get PMC for $.40 a round on the net. Something tells me Gander isn't that good, are they?

During the ammo shortage last year that was about all we could find around here. Between our group of shooters we went through 2000 rounds. Some of the best shooting value ammo. We've been reloading the brass with no problems so far.

My RR Varmint gun actually grouped this ammo the best after I tested five other makes ranging from wolf ammo to hornady v-max. They all shot good enough for me, but on paper, the pmc bronze shot a dime size five round group at 100 yards off the bench. The others performed well with hornady v-max at second best grouping (about a quarter), winchester ranger 64 gr Power point,Remington UMC, monarch, and wolf coming in respective third, fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively. I actually liked the PMC bronze because of it's accuracy in my gun but I highly advise against using it to kill coyotes because it goes in one side and zips right out the other causing them to run off injured. I won't use it again for that reason. Other than that, it's great to plink with and helps to sight guns in without burning up all my v-max. I bought a bunch of boxes here in El Paso when it was on sale for 7 bucks a box plus tax. My advice, buy cheap ammo and get the gun sighted in as close as possible with the cheaper stuff and then fine tune with your hunting loads. The cheaper ammo should ease the pain of buying a $20 dollar box and help offset the costs.

The PMC ammo I've shot does not have the military crimp and the brass is easily reloadable. I really like PMC brass; in fact it's what I use in my prairie dog rifle to shoot really small groups and kill fuzzy critters at longish range.

The Federal bulk pack, on the other hand, does have crimped primers.
