My brother and I have used a ground blind for hunting deer. As I recall it is a Primos Ground Max blind. Not expensive. Sets up quickly and has plenty of room for two. My brother and I are 6'2" and 6'1" respectively and can stand up in the blind.
Front range winds? That is a tough question. In our use, we can set it up for weeks at a time in a sheltered area. The blind we have has both tent stakes for the frame and rope tie-downs. Still, I have been across WY in a semi and there is nothing like a WY wind.
In the end, my brother is more fond of the blind. The man has the patience of a stone! I find it a comfortable place to sit and wait as best I can. Especially during muzzleloader season when it can be heated like an ice fishing house.
