Portable ground blind for yotes?

Does anybody see much advantage to using a portable ground blind for hunting coyotes? I have always just worn camouflage but have wondered if the coyotes were seeing me.

You would not have the flexability to move quickly or adjust for a change of wind direction. IMHO...I'd say too much hassle.

Nope, tried it. Too much hassle. Sit in front of a bush or shrub to break up your outline, make sure that your camo matches the tones of the colors behind you.

Not worth the trouble. Too much to haul around, and the added "junk" will just be more to catch a coyotes attention. Unless you're trying to take one with a bow, anything more than just yourself isn't worth hauling.

Alot easier to set up at the base of a good size tree...run and gun. You have too much stuff to carry. Ground blinds are for deer hunting.

You can get camo burlap, (54"x12') at wally, along with some green plastic tomatoe steaks. Weave the steaks through the burlap and you have a very light, easy to carry blind.

While most of us wear camo, not that many of us can sit still for the amount of time needed for the predator to show itself. In my area it can be from 15-45 minutes before this happens, cats can be longer.

I use the blind mostly in spring when the ground is soft and easy to push the steaks in, you can use a piece of plastic pipe "T" as a handle to push them in with as well. Doing so allows me to move around a bit when needed and not have to remain frozen in place as the predator tries to find me, which of course makes it show itself sooner.

I'll bet you a bubble gum cigar that your score ratio improves and it costs under $20 to do. blue
