Possible FLIR Scout Adapter

Hello Forum.

Iam looking for a way to Mount the PS-32 Thermal on a helmet.

Ive seen a few of the solutions put forward by the members here using a variety of different helmet mounts. Like the Norotos INVG, Rhino and Wilcox mounts.

It looks like most of these require some kind of Conversion custom adapter to get them to work with the flir. Except for using the Rhino mount with a J arm and leaving the image upside down and canted.

Well I found something close to the Modified J arm that Gman757 built to correct the viewing angle. His Modified J Arm

Its an adapter made by ATN that clips into a Norotos Rhino Mount. Usually they use it for the NVG7 when they want to mount it with the screw pointing down. Kinda like how the Flir Scout is.

Iam thinking of getting an A Bravo PT Helmet with a Universal Mounting bracket and then adding the Rhino mount and trying to use this Adapter with my PS-32

Do you think this would fit the Thermal correctly ?

It looks like I might have to remove the thumb screw and add a 1/4 20 threaded one its in place to screw into the bottom of the unit. But iam thinking it should work ok.

The mount adapter can be had for around 79 dollars from brownells.

Its gonna take me awhile to get the Helmet and mount before I can get this adapter and test it out. Or try and rig something to the Mount myself.

Im not sure it will work but sometimes you need to move the flir side to side or at least set the mount for your eye only.

that's why you see a lot of washers on the custom hand made ones... Keep this in mind... Once winter comes and you wear a mask the flir will sit different. that's why adjustments are important. Some people just push the helmet to get it to work/align... To get a good picture and see the screen the flir has less wiggle room than a nv monocular. In other words the screen on the flir is smaller than the pvs14. keep us posted.
