possum skins?

how nice the hydes on these things get? are they worth having tanned or are they basically just a big rat? anyone have one done?

andrew the fur used mainly for trim for hats coats etc. when i used to trap they were, worth a buck. the hides are nice tanned. been wanting to go back around gridly to get one to do just that but havent made it yet. do you know if they are ever going to get a club together around here? shoot straight and keep the fur shed full /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

They brought about $2.00 here last year. Not worth tanning either in my opinion.

why gridely? ive been through there many times. is that a hotspot for oppossums? i didnt even think you could hunt there.

andrew yes you can hunt there. possums, like fruit and dead things, gridley has both, ha, ha. if you aske some of the farmers arond there they will let you hunt. the rice fields, lots of raccoons, fox, coyotes, and the possum. i have family down there they have been trying to get to go calling, but havent made it. good hunting Randy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Just my 2 cents, I coon hunt behind hounds and I'd send you every 'possom in Virginia if I could /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif , They are everywhere.
