Powder Drop Tubes ?

When loading max loads on .17 and .20 caliber cartridges, do the long drop tubes do a much better job of getting all the powder in the case? On some cartridges I seem to run out of case capacity way too soon. Thanks

If it's a long stick type powder, it will definitly help.

I used a drop tube to pretty good effect but a small vibrator touching the side of the case works best for me.Early on I used an old rechargeable beard trimmer but now use a 4" vibrator off the shelf.

Yea the wife looks at me funny when I am loading compressed loads..

www.sinclairintl.com sells some long drop tubes. Throw the handle on the powder measure slowly.

MTD also has a powder funnel with a long drop tube with various sizes of nozzles. Instead of just dumping your powder in the center, slowly and deliberlately pour your powder up along the upper edges of the powder funnel. The powder will swirl in the powder funnel compacting the charge more.

Check out the two above options, then if that has not solved the problem, then go to a faster burning powder.
