Predator hunt in Africa?

Has anyone ever been to Africa to predator hunt or maybe someone here guides predator hunts in Africa? What would a hunt like that run a person generally? If you don't want to discuss that on an open forum you can PM the details. It's something I would love to do and I'd like to do it while I'm still young enough to do it. Time ain't on anyones side so I plan on making that trip at least once in my lifetime. I just don't know enough about it to even get started in that direction.

All the way to Africa to hunt predators? Are you talking about dingos, wild dogs, and maybe hyenas? That's a lot of money for that.

If you are asking about lions, tigers, leopards, etc well ...... that's another story. I'd love to do it but have never been willing to give up the funds it takes.

Join Safari Club Intl. Lots of outfitters on there that can accommodate you.

I think of caracal, African wildcats, jackals (silver and black backed).

Lions and leapords are considered dangerous game.

Dingos are Australia not Africa. Tigers would be India/southeast Asia.

Hey! We're in Texas, remember? (Anything that eats meat is called a predator) And I can list dingos and tigers if I want to ......... :ROFLMAO:

You’re right definitely predators.

Never been to Africa myself, and prices what they are, I may never. If I did, Caracal would be high on my list.

Usually when I think of African hunts packages I think of plains game, big 5 (dangerous game) night hunting predators.

I guess you can mix and match depending on how big your check book is.

Here is an outfitter I found with prices and species available. Might give you an idea.

I know Desert Ram and 6mm06 have both been to Africa and shot predators at night.

A honey badger would be prettt cool.

I'm thinking a Caracal, Jackal, Honey Badger and maybe a Aardwolf would be my target species. But if I saw something else that was a once in a lifetime deal for me like a Porcupine I'd probably dump it too. It's a long ways to go and a lot of money to get there. But I'd imagine those animals are way cheaper to go after than big game or dangerous game. Which I'm not interested in the big game anyways. I don't even hunt big game in the United States.

Shootin varmints and predators is my thing. And knowing me I'd want to look for a Puff Adder or one of the more deadly snakes on our planet. Wouldn't mind having a full body mount of one of those.

I've been to Namibia and South Africa and hunted predators in both places, primarily black-backed jackals, though I also shot a cape fox in SA. I also got to do some varmint shooting and bird hunting. Lots of good times. My hunt reports might still be here...

Lived there for two years, did some hunting. No longer have any current contacts but most any guide can find you game, most that I would be familiar would think your nuts if satisfied with the smaller stuff but hyenas and wild dogs most would be glade to see you take out a bunch. The nomadic herdsman would think you were a godsend

I catch rattlesnakes for fun. I've had people calling me nuts for a long time. I'd be all about it.

I've also wondered how popular jackal calling is over there, I'm guessing not very? I'd be all about it also. I thought a meerkat shoot would be their equivalent of a pdog town. Sounds like a good time!

I think it's fairly popular but I don't know. I spent all day last Sunday watching people call in Jackals and Caracals and whatnot when it was too windy for me to go do anything. There's companies that make varmint huntin chairs and all kinds of stuff for that purpose. There's some dudes making some really cool stuff over there. I couldn't tell you what their gear consist of a lot of times because a lot of the videos out there ain't in English but they're cool nonetheless.

I did notice a lot of them were using FoxPro and playing Lightning Jack to get Jackals to come to the call. I really don't think it'd be much different than our coyotes in the United States. Whether or not they have Jackal vocals downloaded onto their calls I don't know but there's quite a few people over there that predator hunt I think. Or as they call it "varminting".

I can tell you with certainty that jackals will come to a jack rabbit call that they have never heard before. If I can call them, anybody can.

There's a hired gun on FB killing cattle eating hyenas with NV and Thermal. I think he takes people out for a fee. Might hit him up.
