primers for the 243

I am just getting into reloading for the Winchester 243.
I noticed a lot of different primers in large rifle.
(like cci has 205, 210, 215, regular and mag in most)
I have imr 4350 for powder and wanting to load 75 gr up to 100 gr. bullets.
Is one primer better than another?
Which would you recommend?
all input appreciated, Thanks Fred

I have a Remington 6mm and a 6SLR rifle and I use the Federal 210M primers. They have worked so well that I have not tried other primers.

Not to burst your bubble bu CCI primers for the .243 Win. are CCI 200 and CCI 250 the 250's being the magnum.

I believe the numbers you are quoting are Federal primers.

Any of the brands of primers will work if you use the primers used for rifles. JUST DON'T USE PISTOL PRIMERS IN PLACE OF RIFLE PRIMERS.

No mater which primer you use you still need to start a couple grains or so below Max charge and work up looking for signs of over pressure on the way up.

Some say that primers of different brands will not make a difference in your load((as long as it is mag. for mag or standard for standard)) in one load I had worked up for my 22-250 I was using a standard large rifle Winchester primer in the load, it was shooting approx3/4 MOA and when I changed it to CCI 200 primers the group size went to UNDER 1/2 inch with just the change in brand of primer.

CCI 200, Rem 9 1/2, Fed 210M, I have them and tried all 3. Id suggest picking up whatever you can, and then start working your loads. Its kinda like making Jambalaya. The recipe varies as you go. If you can find some 4064 powder to try as well, you will prolly find a winner for those bullets.

I have used every brand of LRP & Lrmp in my .243, unless you are trying to shoot everything into one hole all will do the job w/ a difference so small overall you wont know. Buy what you can get/load & shoot.
