The RCBS bench one loads a primer to the holder on the reverse stroke of the handle. It uses the primer tubes that come with the press (plus one with the tool).
I have 3 of each size, so I can prime 300 cases before I have to shut down and "reload" them.
Yeah, if you had to manually place the primer on the anvil, that would be a deal-breaker for me.
