Problem downloading sounds to TX-1000 remote

Alright, a buddy of mine got a new shockwave and I was helping him put some sounds on it. I have a shockwave, and have done this many times. We got all the sounds he wanted onto the caller with them numbered sequentially. I listed the sounds by number in the category list under the appropriate category. Everything was saved correctly. When I downloaded the sound list onto the remote to sync things up some of the sounds didn't go into the correct category on the remote. For instance, I had a rabbit distress sound go into the coyote vocal category despite being listed under the rabbit distress category in the category list on the shockwave. I quadruple checked to make sure the sounds were in the correct category on the category list in the caller and everything checked out. There was also no duplication of sounds and all sounds were numbered correctly. I even tried upgrading the firmware and downloading the list again and the probelm still persists. There are 3 sounds that I have found so far that ended up in the wrong category on the remote despite being in the correct category in the category list on the caller. I am at a loss for what could be causing this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

On a side note, his shockwave did act kind of weird during the transfer of sounds from my computer to the shockwave. First, when the USB cable was plugged into the computer it recognized the shockwave just fine, but the screen on the shockwave went blank as soon as it was plugged into the computer. My shockwave always says USB connected when I have it connected to the computer. When we unplugged the shockwave from the computer the shockwave remained off despite the power button remaining on. Shutting the power button on and off didn't help. By chance, we found out that if you plugged the charger in and immediatly removed it the Shockwave would power up. It was like we were giving it a little jump start. Very weird acting. His batteries showed they were nearly fully charged according to the shockwave. Any ideas on this peculiar little issue would be appreciated, as well. Thanks.

SDCoyoteCaller,

Whenever you have a moment and have the caller close by please give the guys in the Service Department a call. Let them know what is going on and they should be able to do a little troubleshooting with you. You can reach them at 717-248-2507 option # 2.

So after fighting this problem all morning I finally got the sounds to go into the right categories. They were numbered correctly if I looked at the sound list on the remote. If I looked at the categories on the FP utility program is looked just like I wanted it to look, but it was all messed up in the categories after updating the remote despite being right on the sound list. What I found is the number assigned to each sound in the categories was out of sequential order, meaning I had say 125 listed before 022. In fact, I had them listed as to how often I like to use them and didn't pay attention to the number. You can skip numbers in the category like going from 003 to 013, BUT 003 must be listed before 013. Basically it must go from low to high by the three digit sound number. I did this and it loaded just as I had it in the categories. I hope this makes sense and helps.

Makes no sense to me, I have a shockwave and so far im very unimpressed with it. Im having problems somewhat like yours, but my remote has lost the added sounds that I bought and installed. Im sure im doing something wrong, but this should not be this difficult.
Yes im a computer idiot, but I do not understand anything they are telling me in the instuctions. Makes mouth calls look more promising in my future, Just wish I had not spent so much to find this out.

The caller is what stores the sounds;
1. Turn on the Shockwave and Shockwave remote control.
2. Access (push the top right button) the main menu on the Shockwave remote.
3. Select the “TX1000 Settings” menu.
4. Select the “Download Sound List” item from the menu to initiate the transfer

Are you using the Foxpro utility program?

Anyone who doesn't understand the instruction manual, you should call the techs at FoxPro and they can walk you through it. That is what they are there for, and they are good at what they do.

X2 on what Al is saying and what Zack Stains offered as a solution. I bought a Shockwave last year and I am also technology challenged. I made a call to FoxPro and it was Zack Stains himself who talked me through the programming of my caller. I never felt rushed and he made sure I understood what I was doing before ending the call. You will talk to someone who speaks English and has the patience of a Saint.Make the call you'll be happy you did.
