Prochrono DLX or something else?

I still have the first Prochrono that I bought over 25 years ago and it still works fine. Several years ago I noticed that it would not turn on even with a new battery so I ordered me a new one from Midway. Later model with a few more features. Then an eagle-eyed buddy noticed that one of the wires connecting the 9v battery was broken on the older one (how did I miss that?) and 5 minutes and a quick solder job later it was working good as new. On a whim, I shot my Daisy BB gun though my chrono once and to my surprise it read it just fine. Supposed to work for archery as well but that I have never tried.

The fact that they can still be had for around $100 makes them quite the bargain in my book.

I have a Caldwell Shooters Kit that I bought on recommendation from other guys and I must say, not been very impressed with it. It seems to be very weather dependent and if its too sunny or too overcast, your readings will be sporadic.
Just had it out this weekend to try to clock some handloads and it didnt seem to like to read in 40 degrees. It was overcast too, pretty dark for 3pm in PA.

I will be looking at a replacement at some point Im sure.
Never tried any others so im interested in seeing some responses here.

Like Rusty, I've had a ProChrono for a number of years. Got
very tired of the setup time involved, along with having to
have near perfect conditions for reliability. Got a Magneto
Speed and problems solved, but it's a couple hundred more than
the ProChrono, and would not work with arrows. The LabRadar
might, but that's yet another $200+.

When conditions are PERFECT, I use the ProChrono placed in
front of the target and the MagnetoSpeed on the rifle to
compute real world B.C.'s. What an eye opener that has been
vs. advertised B.C's!
