He's 8. He had his first soccer practice of the season last night in 40 degree weather and was tough as nails.

Prior to practice he was kicking the ball around with a couple older kids and they were punting his ball trying to get it to go over a fence so he would have to fetch it. Well, he got tired of that real quick and started playing around with some kids his own age.

The big kids decided to break up their game and started kicking the younger kids balls over the fence again. Well, my son decided that that wasn't how it was going to go down and when the leader of the big kids grabbed his ball and turned to kick it, my son kicked him in the slats hard enough to pick him up off the ground!!

Well bully boy turns around to intimidate my son and saw that my boy didn't have any "Back Down" in him and was ready to fight him, so he went and cried to his mom

.

Needless to say, sonny boy got extra dessert and made me a proud poppa.

Even in these days of raising kids soft, there are sill a few of us who teach our kids to stand up and not back off an inch to stop rude behavior...and it works.

Kudos to Little Dustbin, the Trashcan is proud of you son!!

Adda boy Little Dustbin, they can take their garbage somewhere else!

My sister has a 14 year old daughter, just as sweet as peaches, that gets harrassed by some boys at school. I told her to have her daughter tell the teachers and principal that if something isn't done about it that she is going to plant her fist in the next mouth that spews something vulger. Sister is too afraid of her getting expelled to let her do it.

T-man, I'm glad that your son won't put up with bullies.
And I'm glad to hear it happenned at such a young age.
Give him an "atta-boy" from me!

I was always bullied by the older, & larger kids, myself...until I got into high school.
Mainly because I was, believe it or not, a skinny beanpole...and they knew that I had an extremely short fuse on my temper.
Got in a LOT of fist-i-cuffs growing up. I usually lost. And usually was the one who got sent to the Principal's Office to get punished. (never have understood that one, LOL).
But, when I got into high school, & one of the largest bullies...6'3"/260-ish...hit me with his first punch as hard as he could, on the chin.
The punch swung my head sideways, but that was it. When I slowly turned my head back to him, & he saw the temper in my eyes, he immediately backed down.
He couldn't believe that a guy 5'8"/140# could take his punch & barely flinch.LOL
After that, I still would get occasionally teased (good-naturely), but nobody ever bullied me again.

My son just had his first confrontation at school, and it did not end in his favor. I told him I was still proud of him for not putting up with the BS/harassing, and now they should(hopefully)think twice about starting chit.
I don`t want to be the parent that says, ` oh my little boy would never...`, but seriously, I just don`t see him as the type to pick a fight, yet the principle made it sound like it was his fault too. Both got 1 day suspension.
Son was afraid what other kids would say because he cried..
Maybe having a 6'4" stepfather to trash me about wasn`t all such a bad thing

LOL.... Yep, gotta be carefull who you pick a fight with. They might just beat a hole in yer head. Give the boy a slap on the back for me Trashcan.

good job Dustin and Thomas!
when i lived in Casper i was a real good kid but didn't take any crap.
my first day of first grade i was sent to the office.
my little cousin was at her first day of kindergarten. one boy in my class started picking on her and was using vary rude language at her.
when he dropped the F bomb i laid him out.
i remember one punch then being on top of him yelling he had better not ever use that word in front of a girl again.
then when we moved to sundance the boys in my class drew straws to see who would fight me i haddn't done anything they were just testing me.
they all gathered around and got it started.
poor mike drew the short straw after seconds i had the upper hand then the rest jumped in.
i took care of every one tell grant jumped in.
later that day all the high school cowboys took me down i was in sixth grade but the hippie's came to my rescue.
that's how i ended up with that crowd before that all i did was raise quarter horses and hunt and fish. i never even cussed.
i stood my ground but never started fights unless you did something to my friends or family if you attacked them you were fair game.
i got kicked out of school for 5 days over kicking a kids butt for tackeling my older sister and giving her a bloody nose i was 8th grade he was 11th i didn't know why he did it but he didn't fair to well.
and again when a kid in my class held his knife as brass nuckles to work over my little brother while i was gone.
the next day he confronted me right in front of the princaples office and called me a bad word.
i hit him one time and he was out gave him the same cut above his eye that he gave my brother.
i walked out of school smoked a cig then went to the princaples, my dad told me not to before the fact but after the fact he said he expected nothing less.
after hearing the cause of the fights my dad never disagreed with what had to happen.

What happened next will?? I would've knocked his teeth in the back of his throat!! Lol the thing I hate about that though is It always took chunks out of the knuckles . Good thing I've finally grown up in my 31 years and calmed down some!! You ought to hear the one were I had to fight my way through two at one time!!

I got nothing but respect for a kid that stands up for himself. Tell him job well done.

Last year when my son was in 5th grade he had one kid that kept giving him crap. Well I told him" don't start the fight but you better dang sure finish it". I was on my elk hunt, and this kid started with my son, push came to shove and he hit my son, my son laughed balled up his fist and punched this kid in the forehead, knocking him to the ground and then my son got on top of him and then commenced an arse whipping on the kid. All the kids in school kept telling the instigator that he got whipped. My son even told the older brother that he was next, got to love a lil moxy.
