Pyramid Airguns?

I've seen these guns advertised are they really pellet guns, If so what do you shoot with them? Why would you want something with hardly any power like that?

And some of them aren't of the "hardly any power" type. Pushing a 20gr .22 cal pellet at 1200fps or a 200gr .50 cal at 600fps could be decent alternatives in places where airguns are legal and firearms aren't.

Of course the decent ones cost as much as a decent "real" rifle, and some of the target ones can cost several thousand dollars. Short range yes, toys...not necessarily.

Have you ever had the chance to shoot a high powered air rifle? Your eyes would open.......I have a German made gun, Feinwerkbau , imported by Beemans . It is about thirty years old and I just had it rebuilt with new spring and piston seal. It shoots better than ever. You can shoot a truck load of squirrels with one....head shoot them and one shot does it . No noise so the woods stays quiet and the other squirrels have no idea what is going on. I have killed coons , possoms , cats , and skunks in box traps so not to be dangeous or mess up the trap. Today I shot a bucket of English sparrows from 10 ft. to fourty yards , great pratice and fun. I was shooting at a 55 gal steel barrel as a target to sight in the scope and at 30 yrds it put extreme welts in the steel and two shots in the same spot the second one went through . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif This is a .177 cal. Lots of land owners will let you hunt with it when they won't let a firearm to be used. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif SM

I have a HW 97 with a lazer kit. 177 cal at 950fps. It's smooth as glass and is more powerful than one would think. It will stack pellets at 30 yards, and kill a jack rabbit at the same.

I have an Air Force, Talon SS air rifle in 22 caliber. It has an air tank that also serves as the butt stock and will shoot pellets from 400 to 1100 FPS depending on how you set it up. The air tank has compressed air at 3,000 psi. This is a deadly little gun that is very quiet and very accurate. I use it to remove pests from my yard. It is easy to kill a crow at 75 yards with it and is accurate enough to hit chipmunks at that range. Chipmunks dig down to the footing drains of our house and cause basement water problems so they are eliminated. There are air guns in larger calibers that I am told will kill predators although I have never tried one myself.

I watched a guy shoot a 200 gr bullet through 3" of salt treated wood at 50 yds with a .45 cal air rifle a few months ago. I'd say that was a fairly powerful rifle.

It was one of the models that you fill from a Scuba tank and will hold 3000 lbs of pressure.
