Question about AR...Help

I am looking at one of the Sig M400 Hunter AR's at Wal-mart for $899. My question is would a Sig be accurate enough for hunting coyotes where most shots are 200 yds or less? My next question is, I would rather have a collapsable stock instead of the stock that come on the gun. Would most any collapsable stock fit this rifle? I am drawn to the Sig because of price and quality. Thanks

You can google Sig rifle reviews and see what others are saying about accuracy. I would think they would do just fine.

RRA makes a good stock.

The M400 on their website has a collapsible stock, while the M400 Hunter has the standard A2 style, so I would imagine that they are interchangeable...Just be sure you get a complete stock with buffer tube and spring..the length is different between the two..

It should be a good rifle and if you can get it at a good price, so much the better...Sig usually puts out a quality firearm..

If you ever find an AR that isn't good to 200 yards, I would assume it's broken in some way.

That said, I think you're paying for the name just a bit with the Sig. You should be able to buy a decent AR for less than $900 these days.

Well, I got to handle the Sig M400 Hunter at Wal-Mart. I really didn't like the feel of it. The hand guard seemed really bulky. Felt like holding a fence post and didn't feel balanced. I also had the chance to handle a Stag 3. I like the feel of the Stag and that is probably what I will purchase. Anything about the Stag rifles I should know? Thanks to all for the help.

I think you'll like/get along with a Stag just fine. I shot one once at our range and found it to be very accurate. This one was a model 6 if I recall right. The trigger was great for a stock one. This was a bull barreled gun. I think they make a good product. good luck in making your choice
