Question about Zeiss Conquest scope

My son bought one of these scopes yesterday. I mounted the scope this morning. He is sighting in the rifle but there are no markings on the adjustment turrets that tell you which way is up/down left/right. I know which turret to adjust the elevation but there are no markings that say which way to turn for up or down. Is this common on the Zeiss scopes?
We looked at a Nikon to see if the two were the same but they are totally different. We did get the rifle sighted but it took more ammo then it should have. I am guessing this is not common and is a mistake from the factory.

That is the way my Zeiss Conquest is too.
Elevation is the top turret, Windage is the side turret.
Both turrets are marked with a U/R to let you know which way to turn.

Gotch ya. Thanks. I must say this is the first Zeiss that I have tried but it will not be the last. I am very impressed with eye relife and clairity.
