I use to hunt a lot of raccoons 30 years ago with blueticks. i used the wheat lite 5200 model. i need a new light to hunt with the neigbor. i am sure things have changed in 30 years on lights. what would be the best light on the market for me to wear on my head ( hard hat with a liner for cold weather ) thanks. marty.

I used to pack a wheat light around on many nights, when I was alot younger. There is so much better technology now. I agree with mulepacker, the Nite Razor from Tritronics is the cat's meow. Super light and portable, great battery life and super bright. It's all I use when the sun goes down here.

^^^^^What he said...Plenty of nice lights on the market, but know a bunch of guys with K-lights, no one has any complaints...not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for...my K-light is going on 4 years old with zero problems hunting 4-6 nights a week when the weather allows it...

The K-lites are very nice, I'm using the same Sunburst Eagle II + 2 now for close to 15 years the only thing I ever replaced was the handheld spot light bulb

I've used a "Cajun" for years go to their website. You guys that like the razor haven't ever used a real nite hunting lite. There are also alot better gun mounted lights on Sportsman's guide for alot less money.

I have a cajun light. Dad bought it 17 years ago, dtill works, probably the best light i have ever had. Forgot all about it till i saw your post bt.

Honestly, after years of using coon hunting lights I switched over to a little LED hiking headlamp for walking and an LED 3D Maglite for shinning. Doesn't take anything special and batteries lasted a long time in that combo. Plus, no more worries about the light dying in the middle of a hunt. Go back to truck and change em out, no more waiting on a recharge.
