Mike told me that at this time his suppliers will not sell bolts or parts (Les Baer) only whole rifles. He told me that LB bolts headspace at .132 and that other bolts headspace at .136 (Alexander ARms) 223 bolts headspace at .125. hence the problem. A great source of info on the 6.5 grendel can be found at 6.5 Grendel forum. Last night the moderator for the ar part of that forum told me that there is no .132 headspace ??? He said there was .125 for 223 ,762X39 (type 1 or 2)?? or Alexander Arms .136. He said and may be wrong that Les Baer worked with Bill Alexander , and when he let and started producing his 264 LB AR he used the same bolt and headspace. According to him either bolt could be headspaced and used. I would like to get 2 bolts for my upper, but all so far will not sell just the bolts. Will check with Mike to see if he agree's with the moderator.
Good Luck with your project.
Tom
Now there is some information that I was not aware of. At this point, trying to get through to D-tech seems like an uphill battle, through no fault of Dtech's. My project, at this point has ground to a halt with not much hope of completion. I'm one of the pity party who has tried calling for over a month, always the same recording.
Now looking at the possibility of an AR10. Just glad I haven't sunk money into reloading components and magazines at this point. We'll see which happens first, Dtech getting freed up or AR10's being available on the market.
Sincerely,
Tail between legs, dragging a stripped lower behind him...
