Question for the Coon Hunters - What Hat?

I recently purchased a Nite Lite Sporter II. I plan to use the lite for limb lining for catfish and I think the lite will be just fine. Spot to flood adjustment and a dimmer. The soft hat that came with it keeps the light pointed up, perfect for treeing a coon, but not so perfect for looking down into the boat or into the water. I have seen several hard hats and soft caps but nothing that is either adjustable or that can be set-up to be pointed down. I'm sure there out there but I have not found anything that looks like it will work.

Have you guys, that use these regularly got any sugestions? And what is the most comfortable hat type to wear these lights for 5 to 6 hours at a time? I'm not very impressed with the hat that came with it.
 
Elk, Back when I ran hounds, I wore a nitelite all the time. Like yours, mine came with the corduroy soft cap with an optional bump cap. Both were designed to shine up and weren't that good for looking down. I did learn very quickly during running season to take the head off the cap and hook it on the front of that battery on the special clip that was found there at the time, just to keep the danged bugs from gathering around my face. It was fine to walk with that way, and if I needed to, I just took it off the clip and held it up in front of my eyes. I don't know about their new units, but mine was gel acid and it would hold a charge for several nights hunting in a row. I don't recall ever running the thing down to dead as long as I used it.
 
I buy just the bracket and mount it on the cap I want. I have several mounted on soft caps, summer and winter styles. I even mounted one on a military pile cap for extreme cold weather. I use rivets to mount the brackets and sometime have to use small washers as a backing for the soft caps.

NiteLite has a metal swivel bracket that attaches to your existing plastic bracket and lets ya move the head up or down. It's only 2.99 in their new catalog. I was thinking of getting one for my lite, my plastic brackets keep breaking.
