Question on 50 cal Beowulf of Alexander Arms

After visiting their website, they claim that the upper receiver is basically a straight swap out on a standard 5.56 ar platform. Some say to swap the buffer and spring assembly, but it isn't needed. It is also said that it is fairly accurate out to 200 yards.
Question is that does anyone actually own one that can comment on it's positive and negative attributes? It just seems that the butt stock (mine looks like a collapsible butt stock)would take a beating?? Also would it just be better to purchase the entire rifle? And lastly, would it be even feasible to purchase anything in a 50 cal round with all the political pressure to ban them....Or perhaps something in the same ballpark that is close to this caliber.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,

I had one of the 50 BeoWulfs and liked it, I had the mid length entry model it used a Lothar Walther match barrel and was extremely accurate. I used the standard A2 Buttstock, buffer and spring with a Bushmaster Lower. My gun ran fine functioned just fine with unmodified GI magazines. The quality of Alexander Arms is exceptional. If I were to do it again, I would probably do the 458 SoCom. I found this gun a little heavy and awkward in comparison to the Leverguns I normally carry and moved back to a 45-70 Levergun.

I thought about the 50B but went with a 458 socom instead. The Beowulf shoots pistol bullets, that means a thin jacket no matter what. The 458 Socom is useing a bullet designed for the 45-70 Govt. and pushes them to speeds like the high end modern 45-70's 1700FPS in the 405 grn 2000 FPS with the 300 grn. The avalibilty of brass is about the same. There has been some whineing from the anti's about banning anything in 50 cal. ect. All in all from my research the 458 is a more viable long term chambering. But is has it's down sides as well.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I will certainly look into the 458 Socom. Some things I did not even think about. That's why I like this forum!

I would choose a 45 cal over a 50 cal anytime. The frontal area really kills the BC of these short bullets that are supersonic.
